Roland VQD106 Quiet Design V-Drum
The Roland VQD106 V-Drums Quiet Design is a complete electronic drum kit engineered from the ground up for silent practice in shared living spaces. Every component in the system — from the pads and pedals to the stand itself — has been redesigned to achieve up to 75% less noise compared to conventional V-Drums kits. The pads feature sound-absorbing honeycomb rubber inserts beneath mesh heads, with strategic venting on the undersides to dissipate air pressure, while the noise-isolating stand uses hemispherical rubber feet and a floating frame design on the kick pad to minimize vibration transfer to the floor. Despite the focus on quiet operation, the VQD106 delivers authentic stick feel and natural rebound that holds up against standard electronic drum kits.
At the heart of the system is Roland's TD-07 sound module, loaded with 50 drum kits and 143 instruments spanning a wide range of acoustic and electronic sounds. Bluetooth connectivity lets you stream music wirelessly for play-along sessions, while USB audio/MIDI makes it easy to record directly into your DAW. Built-in coaching functions and free Melodics lesson integration make the VQD106 an ideal practice tool for developing drummers, while the expressive pad layout — featuring independent head and rim triggering on the snare and bow/edge detection on the cymbals — gives experienced players the nuance they need for serious playing. The kit is also compatible with single and double kick pedals, giving you room to grow as your technique advances.
