The Santa Cruz Vintage Artist is the company's take on the classic mahogany dreadnought, voiced for the dry, punchy fundamental and strong midrange that bluegrass and roots players prize. This example pairs a Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides, and Santa Cruz upgraded the build with Adirondack bracing attached with hot hide glue over the model's scalloped Advanced X pattern for added responsiveness. A V-shaped mahogany neck with a volute, a Brazilian rosewood headplate and a 2-1/4" string spacing at the bridge round out a guitar that is as comfortable for driving rhythm as it is for fast single-note runs. Handcrafted in Santa Cruz, California, it is a working player's dreadnought built to the standards of one of America's most respected small shops.
