The aluminum alloy bars produce a warm, sustained, bell-like tone that sits tonally between a xylophone and a glockenspiel, and the soprano range covers the higher two-octave register for melody and accent work. Bars are removable for substitution and individual tuning, the resonator box reinforces and warms the sound, and the included pair of mallets makes the instrument playable straight out of the case.
