Kepma D1-120A Dreadnought Guitar
The Kepma D1-120 all-solid dreadnought is the ultimate dreadnought for acoustic tone and playability. It features an all-solid construction with a AAA+ Alaskan Sitka Spruce Top and solid Indian Rosewood back and sides. What makes the D1 incredibly toneful is the combination of tonewoods and a re-engineered top bracing system that provides stability while enhancing the projection of the instrument. The D1-120 has a slightly different tone vibe that’s derived from the meticulous working of the solid rosewood back and sides — a feat that’s not simple. Rosewood is an incredibly delicate tonewood to work with in solid form and is prone to premature cracking, splitting and deformation in “guitar” thicknesses. However, the Kepma Wood Process (see second video on the right) ensures that the finished product is perfect. This guitar comes alive in your hands and you feel its character throughout your entire body as you play it. It’s bright where it needs to be, and gives you an amazingly detailed low end and slightly darker undertones you won’t find in our other (or anybody else’s for that matter) guitars. Articulation is extremely important and the D1-120 delivers with amazing precision and clarity. It projects with perfect balance — something every player wants but few guitars deliver. The D1-120 does.
Every D1-120 has been meticulously crafted with the highest degree of precision to yield one of the finest playing guitars in the world. In addition, every D1-120 is set up using the Plek™ Fretboard dress & nut system, and every guitar is settled in the vibration room for 14 days (that’s 336 hours), the “playing equivalent” of just over 1 year. You could say that all of the Kepma Elite Series Guitars are “well adjusted” with no additional tweaking necessary. The Kepma D1-120 — Perfect. Every Time.
The D1-120 Model is available as a pure acoustic, or with the patented Kepma AcoustiFex® Pickup, preamp & FX system (D1-120A).
*Some AcoustiFex Equipped models ship with a protective plastic “tab” inserted between the positive terminal of the battery and the contact point for the battery. This tab must be removed before charging and playing. See theAcoustiFex pagefor instructions.
