The Cave & Canary Orion is a semi-hollow offset electric built around a double-bound, carved top and back body in alder, giving it an airy, resonant voice and plenty of sustain without the feedback-prone bulk of a full hollowbody. A pair of Cave & Canary Shimmertron pickups runs through a three-way switch with master volume and tone for sparkling cleans and warm, articulate drive, while an offset vibrato on a roller bridge and locking tuners keep it in tune through expressive bends and shimmer. A bound roasted maple C-shape neck with a 14-inch radius rosewood fretboard and Solar inlays and 21 medium stainless steel frets on a 25.5-inch scale make it smooth and durable under the fingers, and this example is finished in Ferngully Metallic with a sage pickguard.
