The violin shares the Conservatoire's hand-carved spruce front and flamed maple back and ribs, built on an inside mould for accurate assembly and finished in Stentor's signature Shellax varnish. Where the Conservatoire II pulls ahead is in the fittings: a Wittner Ultra tailpiece with integral fine tuners and a set of higher-quality branded strings give the instrument noticeably crisper response and more stable tuning, while traditional ebony fittings and inlaid purfling keep the look classic.
